About Carlyn Galerie
Carlyn Galerie has established itself as a nationally recognized store devoted to the sale of fine American art glass, clay, fiber, metals and jewelry. Opened in 1989, it is owned by the mother/daughter team of Cindi Ray and Wendy Dunham. It is filled with fine examples of glass art: blown, fused, slumped, lampworked and cast. Cases and tables display a variety of jewelry artists from around the country; everything from river rocks to fresh water pearls, semi-precious stones to mixed metals. Interspersed throughout are pottery pieces in raku, porcelain, sagger-fired, and so on. Wearable art from different fiber artists is a wonderful new feature in the Galerie.
We have received many honors and awards over the years including D Magazine’s “top blown glass gallery” and “top spot to shop” as well as Niche Magazine’s top 100 American galleries.
The Galerie carries a wide variety from many different artists; some artists are older, established, with many years experience, while others are the young, up-and-coming individuals. Cindi and Wendy are always seeking new artists, who might not exhibit at the wholesale shows. They are fortunate to find new artwork through different art schools, word of mouth, and certainly referrals from other artists.
There is a broad criteria for purchasing artwork for the Galerie; we look at the techniques, the quality, the variety of colors, and an appropriate price range.
We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service. We maintain a good rapport with our clients as well as our artists. It’s fun for us to create those special orders. We have wish lists to ease the trouble of shopping for that perfect gift, a layaway program to ease the burden of immediate expense, and a fun, colorful atmosphere in which to shop.
